30th of June, 2015
As you all know today is June 30 which means that today is the end of the Financial Year (EOFY). At the start of the New Year we all have the best intentions and make all these New Years resolutions. Now that it is the middle of the year, I ask you where are your resolutions at? What were they & have you done them? Seeing as it is the start of a New (Financial) Year, we should do a little stocktaking on our resolutions. At the start of the year I made only 3 resolutions as that way they are much easier to achieve instead of having hundreds of little ones. I was always told that the more resolutions you made the higher the chances were of you actually completing them, yet I feel that that is a false statement as the more you make, the more pressure to complete them you find yourself under and then you no longer enjoy completing them. It is so much easier to do things and do things well when you actually enjoy what you are doing.
My resolutions were to:
~Read lots of books
This was my first resolution as I knew that this year I wouldn't have to much time to read as this year was going to be a busy year with classes, homework and all my other out-of-school commitments.
~ Do well in all my classes
I feel this is important although it can be a little taxing at times.
~Make new friends
This year I was going to be starting at a new place, face new challenges & be put in a new sport team. I made this resolution as I wanted to have a wider friend network and have friends that were different ages, in different classes, came from other suburbs etc.
When I look at this list it actually makes me quite happy because when I look at all the things I wanted to do, I am also faced with the things that I have done. This is really surprising for me because I usually I am terrible at making resolutions, so bad in fact that I have up to this year, stopped making them. Now I want you to go and search through your draws, look in all the pockets of the jackets you wore at the start of the year & try to find your New Year Resolutions list. Once you have found it look at all the things that you wanted to do, and then look at all the things that you have actually done out of that list. When you look at it again, think about the things off the list that you really wanted to do. Have you done them? Will you do them?
After thinking this why don't you make a new list? I am no guru but just look at these little steps to help you complete the old resolutions, make some new resolutions and actually complete them all.
If you want you can put in the comments what you are going to do and then in a few months might remind everyone.
Love & Luck
